Meet Our Team

Back row: Teresa, Mellen, Becky, Amanda, Carissa, Amy, Shari and Lara; Front row: Kim, Christina and Terri

I could not do the WeeSale without my amazing staff!   They are without a doubt the most hardworking, supportive, and Christian women I know. They are the reason the Upscale WeeSale is organized – My “organization gurus” put in over 150 hours of work each season. A big thank you to their extremely patient and supportive husbands, who become mom, dad, babysitter, cook, and taxi drivers for their children each season.

Carissa, Matthew, Rose, and Mary James

carissa familyI began WeeSale as a consignor 16 years ago and I rely on it for more than just clothes and kid supplies. The WeeSale is my girl time; an oasis from my hectic normal world into this hectic world of chaos and camaraderie. As a volunteer I would always find myself staying longer and longer just for the fellowship and the fun we all had together. Now Kim makes sure we have PLENTY of hours together to get the “WeeSale fix,” and these girls are my best friends.  My amazing husband, Matt, is the support that allows me to continue to take time away from my family, and I am so thankful for him and the 21 years we have been married. He was my junior high school sweetheart, and I love him dearly. My two girls keep me in stitches and bring so much joy to my life. Rosie (17) is a senior at York Preparatory Academy where she is addicted to her Mock Trial Team.  MaryElisabeth (13) is a 9th grader at York Preparatory Academy and is our resident philosopher with an opinion on everything. I never know what will come out of her mouth next, but she truly keeps life exciting. I am so blessed. I got my Masters in Secondary Education from Winthrop University in 1999. I teach English at York Preparatory Academy.

Mellen, Darryl, Neely and Isaac Shugart

mellenandfamily.jpgThe Upscale Weesale is a HUGE part of me and my family.  I began consigning
14 years ago when my daughter was 12 months old.  I look forward to the
Weesale each season because it allows me to do what I love to do best: shop!
It also allows me to do what I love to do 2nd best: sell!  What began many
years ago as a double volunteer shift plus many more hours to earn the perks
of consigning is now a passion.  I could not do all this without the help
and support of my high school sweetheart, Darryl Shugart, who I’ve been
married to for 24 years.  Our daughter, Neely, is in high school and is
gifted in both sports (volleyball) and academically as she one day hopes to
either coach Volleyball and/or be a Teacher/Guidance Counselor.  She loves
to shop at the Weesale for all her upcoming school/summer needs.  Our other
miracle child, Isaac will start Kindergarten this year.  The Weesale truly
meets my every clothing/toy/accessory item(s) need in many ways. Outside the
Weesale, I graduated from Winthrop College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Social
Work degree and I am currently working in the Rock Hill School District.
Come see me at The Upscale Weesale where I can help you meet the needs of
your child(ren) too!

Lowell, Christina, John, Jussely, Anna, and Alston Davis

My name is Christina Davis. I have lived in Rock Hill since 1988. I am a graduate of the College of Charleston with a major in christina.jpgElementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood. The summer before my senior year, Mellen Shugart introduced me to my husband John at church. We were married a year and a half later and have been happily married for 17 years. We have four awesome children who help me to enjoy the simple and good things in life. Jussely is 18 and is the best teenager ever! He is a great help at the Wee Sale. Lowell is 13 and is our in-house handiman/inventor. Anna just turned 11 and is a true mother to all in need. To her, a band-aid and a hug can fix anything. Alston, our youngest, is 9.  She keeps our house filled with music and hides all our treasures to “keep them safe.” I began consigning and volunteering at the Spring Wee Sale of 2000. What began as a way to be a good steward of my money quickly became a much more meaningful experience. I have developed lasting friendships and I am able to participate in something I feel makes a difference in people’s lives. Kim runs her business with the utmost professionalism and integrity. Whether you are a consignor, volunteer, shopper or a vendor, Kim strives to make each Sale a successful and pleasant experience. I look forward to meeting each of you at our next Sale!

Amanda, Adam and Lizzie Ramsey

Amanda-and-Family-300x231.pngMy family moved to Rock Hill when I was 12, so although I wasn’t born here, I’ve been here long enough to call this my home. Adam and I were married in December of 2010 and in 2011 we decided to grow our family. Lizzie was born in April of 2012 and I have been a stay at home mom since. I began shopping at the Upscale WeeSale before I had children while providing early intervention services to families in the York County area. Later, I began teaching in the Fort Mill school district and continued shopping the sale for my classroom.  I had no idea what benefits this sale provided until I had a child of my own and started consigning and volunteering. I loved volunteering at the WeeSale because it made me feel like I was helping others and I knew in return I would save our family money and find good quality things. As seasons passed I began to get to know the staff of the sale better and I realized what a great team they were together. I became a part of the team in 2013. Until then, I still had no idea how much work this staff and all of the wonderful volunteers put in to make WeeSale a success year after year. I am blessed to be a part of such a great group of ladies.

Becky, Mark, Julia, Payton, and Mary Katherine Wyatt

I am Becky Wyatt from Blair, SC. I graduated from Winthrop University in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. My husband, Mark, and I were married in the fall of ’99. We are the proud parents of two beautiful, sweet girls…Julia, 11, and Peyton, 6, with whom I am blessed to be able to stay at home. I began my journey with the Upscale Weesale in 2004. What began as a fun way to clean out and earn extra cash, quickly became an integral part of the Wyatt family! As a Homeschooling mom to my two daughters, the Upscale Weesale not only allows me to have an outlet of my own, but it also allows me the opportunity to spend time with a wonderful team of ladies that are now a very meaningful part of my life. In addition, it allows me to provide our children with the things they need most at a fraction of the retail cost, while earning money on those items that I am able to sell. The Upscale Weesale is a tremendous blessing to me and my family on many different levels, and I certainly could not be a part of this team without the help and support of my entire family, especially my husband. It is an honor and blessing to know and work with each one of these amazing ladies!
